When the fundraising paper came home from school for the Healthy Heart Challenge (sponsored by the American Heart Association), I thought it was important for my daughter to learn about the importance of being active and to raise money for heart health along side her peers.
We worked with her gym teacher and physical therapist to come up with her own unique way of jumping rope while wearing AFOs and using her crutches. It filled my heart to the brim when come home from school this week SO EXCITED about finding her own way to jump rope!
Her way: Lay the rope on the ground, put crutches on one side of the rope & jump over. Turn around & repeat. If feeling super energetic, take a running start!
Check out the video we made! What kind of activities would you like to try and adapt for your kids? Share with me in the comments of this post or in the comments of the YouTube video.
